Regular Season Round 19: Ponce - San German 72-68

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Atleticos' (7-13) road loss to fourth ranked Leones (11-9) 68-72 on Saturday. Ponce made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American forward Darius Bazley (206-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Jordan Murphy (200-1997, college: Minnesota) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four Leones players scored in double figures. New Zealand forward Sam Mennenga (206-2001, college: Davidson) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Andre Curbelo (183-2001, college: Southern Miss) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leones have a solid series of three victories in a row. Ponce maintains fourth place with 11-9 record. Loser Atleticos keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Ponce will meet San German (#5) on the road in the next round. San German will play against Caguas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
